Welcome to the Jungle is a global online recruitment platform that connects job seekers with companies through immersive job listings and helps companies build their recruitment strategy by sharing their story through employer branding.
The Welcome to the Jungle team wanted a clearer understanding of their website performance in Google Analytics to drive improvements. They needed to investigate traffic and lead spikes, measure the impact of site changes, and identify the most effective traffic sources to refine their marketing strategy.
They also wanted deeper insights into user behaviour – understanding where users navigate, what they search for, and how they interact with the website. Tracking custom events, analysing engagement, and identifying reports that provide real business value were key objectives.
The overall goal was to gain actionable insights into visitor behaviour, measure the success of updates, and optimise marketing spend by focusing on the channels that deliver the most valuable traffic.
We delivered a tailored, one-day in-person training session for the Welcome to the Jungle team. Before the session began, we went around the room to understand pain points and experience with analytics, ensuring the session was practical and immediately applicable to their day-to-day roles.
Utilising their GA4 profile throughout the day, this allowed us to explore the different reports in real time, which provided opportunities for discussion and allowed the team to ask specific, real-world questions about what the data could mean for their marketing strategy.
The day was structured into four key sections:
- Introduction to GA4
- Key reports and insights
- Event configuration using Google Tag Manager
- Exploration and user behaviour analysis
This structure allowed us to cover all areas of the GA4 profile in detail. Regular knowledge checks throughout the day ensured the learning was applied immediately, giving the team confidence in navigating GA4, tracking and measuring events, building custom Exploration reports, and delivering actionable insights to inform marketing strategy and optimise website performance.
After completing the in-person training session, the team passed all knowledge checks throughout the day and were able to:
- Confidently navigate and analyse GA4 reports
- Track and measure custom events using Google Tag Manager
- Build custom Exploration reports to uncover insights into user behaviour and website journeys
- Identify high-performing traffic sources to inform marketing strategy and budget allocation
