As the number one in their field, InSinkErator aims to dominate the results pages for all relevant keywords and phrases on Google. The website, content and reputation are all strong. Link building was therefore identified as being core to their future successes.
The brief was simple – build links. However, as any SEO will tell you, that’s harder than it sounds!
Distinctly only operate in the ‘white hat’ space, with the most ethical and futureproof of link building methods. Successful link building needs awesome content. That means content that’s better than what is out there already. It needs to be useful, helpful, entertaining, interesting… this is exactly what we produced for InSinkErator.
Our infographic entitled “Think before you drink: The environmental cost of bottled water” features well researched, meticulously vetted and carefully compiled information about the impact of bottled water on the environment.
Distinctly handle all the research, content writing and asset creation, providing – an end to end service. Once produced and approved, the piece was hosted on the InSinkErator website and our in-house outreach team set about sharing it far and wide. Target audiences included eco and environment sites, plus manufacturing and business websites.
Our outreach received an amazing response from our target websites and the piece was featured across a selection of online press including sites such as wastelesslivemore.com, projectaware.org and ecomagazine.com.
Much like a quality stereo, an outreach campaign is only as good as its weakest component. It’s a tough game and wildly competitive out there. You need great ideas, strong information, crafted content and attention-grabbing outreach communications. But it can be done – we proved that.
