Why Pinterest is the new Facebook
Social media consultant Adam Gray discusses exciting social media platform Pinterest and how to use it for your business.
Seasonality affects all businesses to some degree. Whether you’re an ice cream salesman or an insurance broker, there will be seasonal factors outside of your control that affect demand. Most businesses simply accept these as ‘quiet months’ and use them to plan for the busier periods. It doesn’t have to be this way!
Successful, pro-active businesses do not accept that any time of year should be more sluggish than another, and implement marketing activity to ensure they are running as close to full capacity for as much of the year as possible.
Even in ‘quiet’ months, there will be people out there who want your services. There may not be as many as in the boom months, but in most industries there will be plenty more customers out there than your business could cope with. The key is finding them.
Google Adwords is a great advertising platform for businesses. It allows you to display your adverts to people at the exact time they are searching for your products, and better still, costs are only incurred when they show an interest in your advert and click on it.
Despite this, we still hear businesses say things like ‘March is always a quiet month, let’s cut back on Google Adwords’. This is completely the OPPOSITE of what should happen! Businesses should be saying ‘we know March is quiet, so let’s INCREASE our Google Adwords spend’. After all, costs are only incurred when adverts are clicked on, so if there isn’t the demand, costs won’t rise.
This is what makes PPC a perfect way to maximise your business’ potential and ensure those sluggish periods are a thing of the past.
